"The first tattoo"

Here's how to best care for your tattoo!
1. Your tattoo will be wrapped in foil by us; you should leave this on for at least 2-3 hours to prevent contamination. It is recommended to re-wrap the tattoo in cling film overnight, and possibly also at work (depending on your job, dust, dirt, or if you work in nursing or a hospital).
2. After removing the film, rinse the tattoo with lukewarm water.
Clean "carefully" and without rubbing. Then apply a thin layer of wound and healing ointment (e.g., "Bepanthen"). Please make sure you do not use any drawing salves, as these will cause discoloration!
3. Showering YES, bathing NO! Your tattoo should not be submerged in water and should not be washed directly during the first 3-4 days.
4. Apply cream to your tattoo at least 3 times a day, or whenever it becomes too dry. Before each application, gently clean the tattoo (see point 2).
5. Avoid any sporting activities that could damage the tattoo during the first few days.
No tanning beds, chlorinated water, quarry lakes and direct sunlight for the first 3 weeks!
6. It will itch intensely for the first two weeks, and that's a good thing! Itching means it's healing. DO NOT SCRATCH!!! (A gentle scratch helps ;).
If your tattoo still shows increased redness after about 2 to 3 weeks, it could possibly be an inflammation.
In this case, please consult your family doctor or dermatologist, or come by the studio.
If you take proper care of it, there shouldn't be any problems.
A tattoo is a wound!!!
